SHOWS

Questing Time started life as a live comedy show where comedians play Dungeons & Dragons live on stage, in the main because Cariad Lloyd had a kid, so the double act Cariad & Paul had to cancel some shows. But, our hero, Paul Foxcroft really liked the venue and Cariad made him try that “ D&D idea you won’t shut up about” at The Phoenix pub in Central London. We already had the nights booked. Our first show featured Rachel Parris, Bec Hill, David Reed and John-Henry “Storybeast” Falle on a quest to get a magic gem out of a skull and rescuing a donkey. I’m not saying they did badly, but one of them got their hand eaten and they accidentally killed several friendly woodland creatures.

People seemed to like it, so we kept doing it - that’s science, Bay-Bee! We took the show to several Edinburgh Fringe Festivals and a bunch of international gaming and fantasy conventions, like Nine Worlds, the Lucca Comics & Games Festival, AireCon, and many more!

Then COVID-19 happened and we moved the show online.

For over two years Briony Redman, Richard Soames, Matt Highton and Rufus Hound played as The Best Friends Club over on our Twitch channel, where ventured all over The Forgotten Realms, across The Elemental Planes, to The Heart of Winter and quite literally to Hell and back… a couple of times, actually.

Then lockdown ended and we all thought things would go back to how they were in 2019, but instead live comedy never really recovered and we all got Covid a bunch of times, because it’s still a thing. For reasons, we’ve had a bit of a break.

But stuff’s happening in 2025.

Meanwhile, here’s a bunch of stuff we did in the past. Click on stuff, you cowards.

Comic Relief PLays Dungeons & DRagons

In May of 2020 our DM, Paul Foxcroft, was the host and Dungeon Master of a charity event that saw UK comedy legends play Dungeons & Dragons, in some cases for the very first time.

Paul was joined by Nish Kumar, Sue Perkins, Sara Pascoe and Ed Gamble in a stupid little game that saw their four characters obtain terrifyingly powerful magic items, then hunt down and face off against a dangerous undead monster that’s obsessed with fame and tigers.

This stream features a lot of chaos, from phoning Greg Davies and James Acaster to ask their advice to getting the hashtag #GregDaviesDeathMask trending in the UK - but more importantly, it raised over £35,000 for Comic Relief.

Devil deals

Back in 2019 Dungeons & Dragons asked Paul to travel to Lucca to the Comics and Games Festival to run a D&D game as part of the Festival.

This was straight up incredible, featuring a cast of D&D artists, producers and creatives as well as legendary actor and D&D fiend - Joe Manganiello.

The whole thing was broadcast live on Twitch from Teatro Giglio in Lucca, Puccini’s Opera House… which is almost impossible to see in the video. But there’s intrigue, adventure, excitement and a wide selection of costumes for the charaters to choose from.

More details and two videos beyond the link…
